Ars notoria (c. 1225 manuscript, Yale Mellon MS 142) promised instant mastery of the liberal arts via prayers and figures "looked into" on set lunar days (4th, 8th...30th). Brother John of Morigny used it, had demonic visions, then wrote a replacement 30-prayer book (Liber florum) — which was the only version burned, at the University of Paris in 1323.
